Position Summary

The National Operations Manager is the operational backbone of North American Fire Protection.

This role sits at the center of the organization — serving as the first call, primary problem solver, and accountability leader for all field operations nationwide. You will lead foremen, enforce standards, drive safety, and ensure operational consistency across every jobsite.

This is a hands-on, high-visibility leadership role requiring strong judgment, field credibility, and the ability to work directly with the CEO and VP-level leadership to move the business forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the direct leader and primary point of contact for all Fire Sprinkler Foremen nationwide
• Act as the first call and problem solver for field leadership when issues arise
• Establish, enforce, and continuously improve company policies, protocols, and operational standards
• Build, implement, and enforce company-wide safety programs, including OSHA compliance and jobsite safety practices
• Travel to active jobsites to inspect performance, safety, productivity, and adherence to company standards
• Own and manage the company vehicle fleet, including policies, maintenance, and accountability
• Create and maintain a tool management and tracking system to protect assets and ensure field readiness
• Hold teams accountable for performance, conduct, safety, and results
• Monitor operational KPIs and field metrics, implementing corrective action where needed

• Serve as a trusted operational partner to the President and VP team, with comfort working at the C-suite level

Fire Sprinkler Designer

North American Fire Protection LLC (NAFPCO) is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to support the design and execution of commercial and industrial fire protection projects.

The Fire Sprinkler Designer is responsible for developing accurate, code-compliant, coordinated, and constructible fire sprinkler system designs from project award through fabrication and installation. This position works closely with project management, field operations, general contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, and other trades to ensure fire protection systems meet contractual requirements, applicable codes and standards, project schedules, and NAFPCO quality expectations.

The successful candidate must be able to interpret construction documents, apply applicable NFPA standards and project specifications, perform hydraulic calculations, coordinate systems with other building trades, prepare fabrication and installation documentation, and effectively support field personnel throughout construction.

NAFPCO specializes in design-build fire protection for complex commercial and industrial facilities, including cold storage, food processing, distribution, pharmaceutical, data center, and mission-critical environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Fire Sprinkler System Design

· Develop fire sprinkler system layouts and construction drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, HydraCAD, AutoSPRINK, or other NAFPCO-approved design software.

· Design fire sprinkler systems in accordance with applicable NFPA standards, adopted building and fire codes, project specifications, contract documents, and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.

· Perform hydraulic calculations and other technical calculations required to support system design and code compliance.

· Determine appropriate system layouts, pipe sizing, sprinkler types, system components, and design criteria based on occupancy, commodity, storage configuration, building construction, and project requirements.

· Design and coordinate wet, dry, preaction, ESFR, storage, and other water-based fire protection systems as applicable to assigned projects.

· Incorporate fire pumps, tanks, risers, backflow assemblies, valves, and other fire protection equipment into system designs when included within the project scope.

· Prepare accurate drawings, details, sections, riser diagrams, calculations, and other required design documentation.

Contract Document Review and Code Compliance

· Read, interpret, and apply architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and fire protection drawings and specifications.

· Review project contracts, specifications, addenda, RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation affecting fire protection design.

· Identify discrepancies, conflicts, missing information, or design conditions that could affect system performance, constructability, cost, or schedule.

· Communicate design questions and potential scope conflicts to the appropriate project team before they impact fabrication or field installation.

· Maintain working knowledge of applicable NFPA standards, building and fire codes, industry practices, and AHJ requirements.

· Incorporate approved RFIs, ASIs, bulletins, change orders, and other design revisions into project drawings and documentation.

BIM and Trade Coordination

· Participate in BIM and multidisciplinary coordination processes as required by the project.

· Coordinate fire sprinkler piping and equipment with structural systems, mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, process piping, ceilings, equipment, and other building components.

· Review coordination models and drawings to identify and resolve clashes before fabrication and installation whenever reasonably possible.

· Participate in coordination meetings with general contractors, construction managers, engineers, and other trades as required.

· Maintain accurate and timely documentation of coordination decisions and design changes.

Fabrication and Material Coordination

· Prepare accurate stocklists, fabrication information, material takeoffs, and related documentation required for procurement and fabrication.

· Review drawings and material requirements before release for fabrication to identify potential errors, omissions, or constructability concerns.

· Coordinate design releases with project management, purchasing, fabrication, and field operations in accordance with the project schedule.

· Review equipment and material submittals for compatibility with approved system designs, available space, specifications, and project requirements.

· Assist in identifying material or equipment substitutions when necessary and ensure proposed changes maintain design intent and code compliance.

Project and Field Support

· Coordinate closely with Project Managers regarding design schedules, permitting requirements, fabrication releases, material needs, and construction milestones.

· Maintain assigned design responsibilities in accordance with established project schedules and communicate potential delays or constraints promptly.

· Communicate directly with field supervisors and foremen regarding design intent, installation conditions, coordination issues, and necessary drawing revisions.

· Review field-generated information and incorporate approved changes into design documents as required.

· Perform jobsite visits, field surveys, and existing-condition verification when necessary.

· Provide timely technical support to field personnel during installation, testing, and project closeout.

· Assist in resolving field conditions while maintaining code compliance, design intent, and project requirements.

Quality Control and Documentation

· Review design drawings, calculations, stocklists, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy before submission, fabrication, or release to the field.

· Maintain organized and current project design files in accordance with NAFPCO procedures.

· Maintain accurate revision control and documentation throughout the design and construction process.

· Prepare or assist with permit submittals, resubmittals, record drawings, as-built drawings, and project closeout documentation.

· Participate in internal design reviews and quality-control processes.

· Take ownership of assigned design work and proactively identify issues that could affect safety, quality, cost, schedule, or constructability.

Customer and Team Relationships

· Maintain professional and productive relationships with customers, general contractors, architects, engineers, AHJs, vendors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.

· Communicate clearly, professionally, and promptly with internal and external project team members.

· Work collaboratively with Project Management, Field Operations, Estimating, Purchasing, and other NAFPCO departments.

· Represent North American Fire Protection professionally during meetings, site visits, and other project interactions.

Other Duties

· Participate in project meetings, design reviews, training, and company meetings as required.

· Support continuous improvement of NAFPCO design standards, processes, templates, and workflows.

Qualifications

· Education and Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Associate degree, bachelor's degree, technical drafting education, or formal training in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, CAD/BIM, or a related discipline preferred.

· Minimum of 3–5 years of fire sprinkler design experience preferred, with demonstrated experience producing construction-ready fire sprinkler system designs.

· Experience designing commercial and/or industrial fire sprinkler systems strongly preferred.

· Experience with storage occupancies, ESFR systems, cold storage, food processing, distribution, or other complex industrial facilities is a plus.

Certifications

· NICET certification in Water-Based Systems Layout preferred.

North American Fire Protection is looking for a hands on, mechanically skilled Facilities & Fabrication Technician to join our growing Florida operation.

This is not your typical maintenance position and it is not strictly a welding job.

We are looking for someone who likes being the person who can build it, fix it, organize it or figure it out.

This position will initially spend a significant amount of time on welding and fabrication while also helping take ownership of our Palm Coast facility, shop, inventory, tools, equipment and company property.

As our Florida fabrication operation grows, we expect to add dedicated fabrication personnel. That creates an opportunity for the right person to grow into broader responsibility for our facility, shop operations, inventory and potentially other shop personnel.

If you are mechanically inclined, can fabricate and weld and are the type of person who notices what needs to be done without waiting for someone to tell you, we want to talk to you.

Facilities & Shop

• Take day to day ownership of the condition and functionality of our Palm Coast facility
• Perform routine building maintenance, repairs and preventive maintenance

What You'll Do

Project Billing & Accounts Receivable

• Prepare and submit monthly project pay applications accurately and on time

We are looking for someone who knows how to keep a lot of moving pieces moving. This person will work cross functionally with executive leadership, Operations, Human Resources, Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen and field employees to coordinate workforce logistics, safety compliance, licensing, jobsite requirements and operational follow through.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations & Workforce Coordination

• Coordinate all field employee travel including flights, hotels, rental vehicles and other project specific travel requirements

Required Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

• 1+ years construction experience, fire sprinkler experience preferred
• Familiar with common manual, power tools and equipment
• Knowledge or experience within sprinklers, piping trade or industrial construction a plus
• OSHA training/certification a plus

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License and Social Security Card
• Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
• Ability to travel anywhere in the United States and work on jobsite for extended periods of time

Fire Sprinkler Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fire Sprinkler Project Manager to join our team. As a Fire Sprinkler Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and completion of fire sprinkler system projects. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior management, clients, engineers, designers, installation teams, and technicians, to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires excellent project management skills, technical knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, and the ability to lead a team effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Planning and Coordination:

- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and construction teams to understand project requirements and specifications.

- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective project execution and adherence to project plans.

- Conduct regular project meetings to track progress, resolve issues, and provide status updates.

Project Execution and Quality Assurance:

- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.

- Manage project schedules, materials, and equipment to ensure timely completion of projects.

- Conduct quality inspections and site visits to monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and ensure adherence to relevant codes and regulations.

- Address any technical issues or challenges that may arise during the project and provide timely solutions.

Team Leadership and Communication:

- Lead a team of technicians and subcontractors, providing guidance, support, and direction throughout the project lifecycle.

- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to drive continuous improvement.

- Communicate project updates, milestones, and challenges to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.

Budget and Cost Management:

- Prepare accurate project cost estimates and budgets based on project specifications.

- Monitor project expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.

- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement effective strategies to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.

Documentation and Compliance:

- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, change orders, and closeout documents.

- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, safety standards and NFPA guidelines.

- Coordinate with regulatory authorities, such as fire departments and insurance agencies, to obtain necessary permits and approvals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field.

- 5+ years proven experience in project management role, specifically in fire protection industry (Industrial Cold Storage or Food Processing experience preferred).

- Strong technical knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.

- Knowledge of NFPA 13, 20.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure.

- Ability to follow-up on tasks and assignments in a timely manner is required.

- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
